Jennifer Kuhns Cosmic Blue Monkey Designs
Featured Artist for the
Spring 2007 Olympia Artswalk guide cover:
"Spring Harvest".
Artist Jennifer Kuhns creates vibrant, colorful mosaics
for architectural, community and home settings. Her commissioned mosaic tile artwork can be found at The Evergreen State College, Cielo Blue restaurant, and other venues. Her most recent piece "Spring Harvest" is featured as
the cover design for the Spring 2007 Olympia Arts Walk guide. Jennifer Kuhns graduated from Enterprise for Equity in 2005.
Jennifer is concerned about environmental and economic sustainability. Cosmic Blue Monkey Designs prides itself on developing creative uses for salvaged items, especially tile and glass. While many commissions require at least some new glass or tile, we use mostly salvaged materials for individual pieces. We also purchase new materials from local sources whenever possible.
All mosaics are one of a kind, designed by Jennifer
Kuhns. A variety of art pieces are available by commission, including decorative wall hangings and functional art such as shelves, furniture, lamps, planters, benches, altars, and house signs. Large scale mosaics can also be commissioned for public spaces, walls, parks, lobbies and gathering places. Mosaics are a creative way to add beautiful, permanent art to your business, home or garden. Jennifer creates mosaics using glass or tile, and can use reclaimed and salvaged materials.
Jennifer's comments about Enterprise for Equity: "I had been creating art for several years before attending Enterprise for Equity's business training program. These classes helped me to focus my energy into the business. The training reminded me of the importance of recordkeeping, marketing, written policies/contracts, and more. Most of all, it was a "kick in the pants" for me to get organized and really operate my business well, and it gave me the confidence I needed to make it a reality."
We grow entrepreneurs! Enterprise for Equity is a community supported nonprofit that helps people with limited incomes start and sustain small businesses.
