Entrepreneur of the Month

Few area professionals understand, care for and appreciate trees like Ray Gleason and his staff at Cascade Tree Experts. Ray comes from a family with a long history of experience working in the timber industry. He grew up around big trees, in Lewis County, and has loved working with them ever since.

Whether a customer needs pruning, hardware installation (cable/bolting), planting or tree removal, Ray Gleason combines an old kind of wisdom to every job with the education, expertise and professional training of a certified arborist. Cascade Tree Experts, with a staff of three, offers a wide range of services from pruning weeping Japanese maples to climb inspections for pruning or removing 100'+ Douglas fir trees.

For several years Ray worked hard toward his dream of becoming a forest scientist. Once he obtained his four A.A.S. degrees, one B.A.S. degree, and International Society of Arboriculture I.S.A. certification he was ready to learn the business end of his trade.

Ray completed Enterprise for Equity's business training program in the Spring of 2004 and set out to write a business plan and launch a business. During that process and after the training, Ray Gleason has been dedicated to employing the same level of integrity in his business as he does on the land and with the trees.

One satisfied customer remarked, "The moment I heard the saws cut my gigantic maple and watched that tree lifted smoothly, effortlessly over my entire house to the street, I knew I was working with an incredible professional."

Consider contacting Cascade Tree Experts if you want sound advice from a consultant who knows his business inside and out. Ray Gleason and his partner and wife, Stephanie Gleason, have formed a powerful team and are ready to move this business forward, sustainably!

Enterprise for Equity's business training program was totally enlightening and just the impetus I needed to get my ideas down in a written business plan. More importantly, the business counseling I received a couple of years later allowed me to update my goals and prepare for expansion...Very valuable support!
