Enterprise for Equity presents...
Green Enterprise ConferenceMonday June 7, 2010
8:30 am - 4:30 pm, in Elma WA

As a recipient of the E-Ventures newsletter, you know that Enterprise for Equity has numerous success stories of entrepreneurs who run their businesses with sustainability as a primary focus . They grow organic food, clean buildings with non-toxic cleaning supplies, make biodiesel or fashion their products from recycled materials. You've read about dozens of entrepreneurs who are growing these green businesses through hard work, networking and dedication.

Although the market for these goods and services is growing, there are a set of common challenges that entrepreneurs face. Some are regulatory, some are market focused, still others are capital driven. Growing the vital technical, managerial and other skills as a small business owner is imperative.

The work we accomplish at this conference will make this process a little easier for the entrepreneurs we serve. We also want to reach the hundreds of other micro-businesses (companies with 5 or fewer employees) in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Pacific and Grays Harbor Counties (our five-county region in southwestern Washington State) who need these very same things. We want do this in the most interactive, collaborative and impactful way possible.

What we are doing:
We are cultivating a rich, highly visible network of new and experienced business owners, diverse industry specialists, non-profits, economic development partners and others who are growing our regional green economy.

How we're getting there:
We're bringing together national speakers, industry leaders and business owners who have crafted leading edge strategies for improving efficiency, expanding markets and growing the triple bottom line through innovation.

We're joining your customers, businesses large and small, industry specialists and decision makers to learn more from our regional clean technology businesses.

We're listening to business owners and learning what they need to grow their businesses in the most sustainable ways possible. During the week of May 4-7 our staff held meetings in Aberdeen, South Bend, Olympia, Union, Centralia and Mossyrock along with our local Economic Development and Chambers of Commerce partners.

At these meetings, we heard from builders, city officials, farmers, solar panel installers, small and medium manufacturers, medical professionals, students, non-profit professionals, port representatives, farm stand operators, college representatives, designers and many, many more. They told us what they need to grow their businesses.

This day-long Green Enterprise Conference features locally-grown and locally-sourced food from our agriculturally-rich region.

And, of course, we will be contracting with several entrepreneurs who have completed Enterprise for Equity's business training program to help produce the conference.

Enterprise for Equity is a community supported nonprofit that
