Enrique Jeronimo

I am a multi-lingual Business Readiness Workshop Trainer with Enterprise for Equity and the Education Coordinator at centro integral educativo latino de olympia (CIELO.)

I was born in Guatemala Todos Santos. I was 12 years old when I came here to the USA. I only spoke Mam (a Mayan language in Guatemala) at the time. My parents supported me to enter school and to learn to speak Spanish and then English.

I helped the community for 2 years in the Caridad Todos Santeros organization as a volunteer. I understood that the community needed more help, and CIELO offered me a job. CIELO provides hope to immigrants and refugees in Thurston, Lewis, and Mason counties. Their diverse staff knows the challenge of settling into a new land because many have done it themselves. CIELO offers educational, counseling, and advocacy services that empower our community members to realize their dreams. You can learn more about their current services here

CIELO is more than just a resource center. They are a community hub where people form strong bonds with other immigrants and refugees, staff, and volunteers who make their work possible. At CIELO, I support the immigrant and refugee community by offering English classes, computer and business skills.

Now I also work with Enterprises for Equity in partnership with CIELO, offering the Business Readiness Workshop in three languages: English, Spanish and Mam.
